Discarded steel pipes are composed freely in a grid and mended together with brass to form table structures. Juxtaposing lines, textures and brightness combine ideas of high & low perceived value that unify in function and embrace a sense of time and aging. Reconsidering our relationship towards the discarded vs precious draws a connection to the Japanese art of kintsugi, meaning “golden repair”, reminding us to stay optimistic. Celebrating the rebirth rather than the loss embodies a sense of hope and healing in the absence of what once was.
