Noura Bouzo is a Saudi artist and designer who received her Bachelors degree in Fine Arts and her Masters in Art History with an emphasis on Islamic Art. The Saudi artist, is a full time designer, curator and an award-winning artist. Her artworks are influenced by her love for the history of Islamic art and games. She evokes Islamic miniatures and objects through today’s materialistic world by juxtaposing them in modern settings. In an effort to bring more awareness to Islamic art and some of its lost features, she has recreated valuable scenes (miniature paintings) from historical manuscripts on ceramic plates. The artist has also created hand-painted wood trays based on 14th Century 8-point star mosque tiles. Used in mosque facades, each star tile carried an illustration and inscription. Each tile's story and inscription stands on its own and when put together they created a bigger story.
